Our Hire Sessions are now bookable! We now offer 30 minute one-to-one consultations and 15 minute fit checks which you can book here.

We offer free fit checks and advice with your own carriers, and you are under no obligation to use our hire service. These are bookable and drop-in – we will let you know via our social channels whether drop-ins are available before the session. Sometimes our sessions are sold out so drop-ins won’t be available at these times.

You can also drop-in to collect pre-arranged hires or to drop off a return.

We currently run sessions at:

  • Mapplewell & Staincross Village Hall – Every first Thursday @ 10am-12pm
  • The Cluntergate Centre – Every third Wednesday @ 11.45am-1.45pm

We are always interested in new venues in and around Wakefield. Please get in touch if you have a venue to hire or would like us to have a session near you.

We endeavor to keep our prices affordable, so our prices are currently:

  • Stretchy wrap hire – £8 per month
  • Standard carrier hire – £12.50 per month
  • Framed carrier hire – £15 per month

Yes! You can hire as many carriers as you like. We recommend a maximum of 2, just so you have time to use them and can compare them adequately, but if you want more, you’re more than welcome to.

Yes! We love helping people with a sling for a holiday, pilgrimage or visit abroad. We just ask that you look after it as if it was your own so we can continue to hire these out to more families. (Please send us pictures of you using your slings abroad! We love to see where they’ve been!)

Yes! That’s no problem at all. We offer unlimited swaps on carriers within your hire period. We want you to enjoy carrying and to get your money’s worth.

Yes! Towards the end of your hire, you will receive an email to say it is due back. Just reply to extend and we’ll renew your hire for you. Your payment will roll over to the next month.

We ask that you (and your partner/co-carer) are the sole user of the carrier you’ve hired. This is because you are responsible for the care of the carrier until it’s returned. If your friend damages it while they use it, it is the person named on the hire account that will be liable for the replacement.

You can bring your hire back early to another hire session or our stay & play, however, we cannot offer partial refunds.
If you cannot bring the hire back until after the return date, please get in touch to arrange a drop-off elsewhere.

Yes! Please get in touch to arrange this.
Please consider which postal service you use as it will need insuring for the price of the carrier. Please consider how well you package the carrier so it doesn’t get damaged. Most importantly, please keep proof of postage in case the carrier goes missing. If the carrier is damaged or lost, the person named on the hire account will be liable for a replacement. You are responsible for the carrier until it is in our possession and checked-in.

Don’t worry! If we’ve not heard from you for a week after your return date, we will automatically renew your hire for another month.

No. We quarantine and launder all carriers before they are hired out so they are clean and safe for everyone to use.
We appreciate spot cleaning of any suck marks, mud and food spills, but there’s no need to machine wash the carrier.
If you’ve had a mare, a poonami maybe, and you need to machine wash, please get in touch and we will assist.
